MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
February 24, 2021
The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, February 24, 2021, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Commissioner Guidry led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Commissioners: Steve Guidry, Kim LeMoine, Ronda Perrault, Claudette Purnell,
Absent: Steve Perkins, Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Others: Joanne Bourgeois, Joseph Richardson
A motion to approve the minutes of the December 23, 2020, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Purnell. The minutes were approved unanimously. There were no minutes from January 27th meeting, due to a lack of quorum.
Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine opened the Public Hearing on the Request for Re-Zoning from C-1 (Light Commercial) to R-2 (Single Family Residential) of 653 E. Main Street, Brusly, for James W. Sorrell & Laverne M. Sorrell. After a brief discussion, a motion to recommend the re-zoning to the Town Council, was made by Commissioner Purnell; seconded by Commissioner Guidry. The motion was approved unanimously.
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the variance request of Joseph Richardson, 2120 Ory Drive, for Non-compliance Sec. 120-145(3), to reduce the side setback from 10’ to 7’ to build an accessory structure. Mr. Richardson explained his request to the Commissioners. Mr. Richardson also presented a letter of no objection from his adjourning neighbor. After a brief discussion, a motion to recommend approval of the variance to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Guidry; seconded by Commissioner Perrault. The motion passed unanimously.

A motion was made by Commissioner Perrault to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Purnell to adjourn. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
