Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, October 26, 2005

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
October 26, 2005

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday, October 26, 2005, in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:33 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: None

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joanne Bourgeois, Virginia Currie, Thomas Olinde,
Ann Olinde, Allene Thibodaux, Skipper Grady, Raymond Loupe,
J. D. Pellerin, Jason Creighton.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot and seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the minutes of the September 28, 2005 meeting were approved as written.

Public Hearing:
• Resubdivision of the Howard J. & Virginia M. Currie Lot into Lots C-1 and C-2, located in Section 56, T8S, R12E.

There was no opposition to this request. The public hearing was closed.

Mr. Jules Thibodaux made a motion to recommend that the Town Council approve the “Resubdivision of the Howard J. & Virginia M. Currie Lot into Lots C-1 and C-2, located in Section 56, T8S, R12E”. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Plats submitted for approval:

• Final plat of “Subdivision of Lot 6, Original William Woods Property Portion of Original
Wilman Michel Property into Lots 6A, 6B & 6C” for Heirs of Earl J. Fourroux.

The secretary advised members that copies of the plat were submitted for information purposes only since this is a division of property among family members and can be approved administratively.

• Preliminary plat of “The Gates at the Oaks” Subdivision for West Side Partners, LLC
Representatives of West Side Partners, LLC were not present at this time and the chairperson declared a recess of the Planning Commission meeting to allow them time to arrive with copies of their plat.

6:45 PM, the meeting of the Planning Commission was called to order and members resumed discussion on “Preliminary plat of “The Gates at the Oaks” Subdivision for West Side Partners, LLC .

Mr. Raymond Loupe acted as spokesman for the group. Copies of the proposed subdivision were distributed to each member of the commission and he explained the layout. He advised that they propose to have lots 1 – 12 front on West Main Street and the remainder of the lots 13 – 28 would be a gated community. He advised that the restrictions and requirements on square footage of residences would be equal to Brusly Oaks Subdivision with the possibility of being more restrictive within the gated portion.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to set a public hearing on this request. Public hearing to be held on Thursday, November 17, 2005.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:55 PM.

MINUTES OF BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
October 26, 2005

A regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:40 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: None

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joanne Bourgeois, Virginia Currie, Thomas Olinde,
Ann Olinde, Allene Thibodaux, Skipper Grady.

Upon motion of Mr. Jules Thibodaux, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the Minutes of the September 28, 2005 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

The meeting schedule for November and December was discussed. It was decided to hold the November 2005 meeting on Thursday, November 17th at 6:30 PM and the December 2005 meeting on Wednesday, December 21st at 6:30 PM.

There was no other business to come before the commission.

Mr. Jules Thibodaux made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet l seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6:45 PM.
