Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, November 18, 2009

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
November 18, 2009

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday November 18, 2009 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mr. Fontenot called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Carroll Fontenot, Shane Sarradet, Rosa Stelly, Gary Soniat, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: Jules Thibodaux, Steve Perkins.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois,
Larry Durbin.

Upon motion by Mrs. Stelly, seconded by Mr. Fontenot, the minutes of the October 29, 2009 meeting were approved as written.

PLANNING

None.

ZONING

1) Request for variance to construct a street over sewer servitude:

Owner: St. John the Baptist Catholic Church
Address: Bourgeois St.
Reason: Construct Private Street from Bourgeois St. to Cemetery.

Larry Durbin was present to represent the church. He advised that with the extension of the mausoleum they would like to create access from Bourgeois Street and tie it into to the present cemetery access. There was no opposition to this request.

Mrs. Purnell made a motion to recommend that the Town Council grant the variance. Mr. Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried with a roll call vote of four yeas: Fontenot, Sarradet, Soniat and Purnell. Mrs. Stelly recused herself due to her position on the board of the church.

Under other business the commission set December 16, 2009 as the date for the next meeting due to the Christmas Holiday.

There was no other business to come before the Planning & Zoning Commission.

Mrs. Stelly made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
