Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, August 26, 2009

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
AUGUST 26, 2009

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday August 26, 2009 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mr. Fontenot called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Rosa Stelly, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: Steve Perkins, Shane Sarradet, Gary Soniat.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joanne Bourgeois, John Berthelot.

Upon motion by Mr. Thibodaux, seconded by Mrs. Stelly, the minutes of the July 22, 2009 meeting were approved as written.

PLANNING

None.
ZONING

None.

OTHER BUSINESS

Mrs. Stelly brought up some concerns regarding ”Subdivisions not fronting on a Public Street” (Section 19-8). She stated that this type subdivision is promoting gravel roads in the town, and also, she feels that surrounding property owners should have more input in the approval on this type subdivision. A brief discussion followed.

Mrs. Stelly made a motion that the Planning Commission go on record as recommending that the Town Council review Section 19-8, specifically (5)a, (5)c, (5)e, and (5)k and take into consideration amending some of the requirements with regards to drainage; road construction, improvements and maintenance; and the number of lots allowed. Also, possibly requiring that approval signatures of surrounding property owners be obtained and affixed to the plat. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

There was no other business to come before the Planning & Zoning Commission.

Mrs. Purnell made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 6:45 PM.
