The regular meeting of the Town of Brusly was held this date, December 13, 2010 at the Brusly Town Hall. Council Member Bourgeois led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Mayor: Joey Normand
Council Members: Thomas Olinde, Joanne Bourgeois, Landess Hebert,
Shane André, Chris Kershaw
Town Attorney: Thomas Acosta Jr.
Mayor Normand welcomed back Council Member Bourgeois who had been absent for several meetings due to recovery from surgery.
Upon the request of Mayor Normand a motion to amend the agenda to hear Mr. Welton Roy Lejeune was made by Council Member Bourgeois; second by Council Member Hebert. A roll call vote was had with the following results:

Absent: None
Mr. Lejeune gave a brief update on the repairs being made to the house on his property located on West Main St. to bring the building up to code.
A motion to approve the minutes of the Town’s Regular Meeting of November 8, 2010, was made by Council Member André and seconded by Council Member Kershaw. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.

Planning and Zoning Committee: None
Finance Committee:
A motion to approve the liquor license renewals of Back Brusly Grocery, JW Food Mart, Las Palmas, Louisiana Bayou Bar and Louisiana Bayou Bistro was made by Council Member André; seconded by Council Member Olinde. The motion passed unanimously.
Personnel Committee:
Upon the request of Mayor Normand, a motion to amend the holiday schedule for 2010 to include December 31, 2010 was made by Council Member Bourgeois; seconded by Council Member Hebert. The motion passed unanimously.
A motion to approve the 2011 holiday schedule, as presented by Mayor Normand, was made by Council Member Kershaw; seconded by Council Member Olinde. The motion passed unanimously.

Introduction of Ordinances:
Council Member Hebert introduced an ordinance to include the zoning for a Traditional Neighborhood Development.
Resolutions and Commendations: None
Fire Department Report:
Fire Chief Alleman gave the Fire Chief’s report for November. There were eight (8) first aid calls inside of town and twelve (12) outside of Town. There were no fire calls inside or outside of Town. There was one (1) odor investigation and one (1) gas leak. There were four (4) false alarms and six (6) motor vehicle crashes. The total calls for the month were thirty-two (32). The total for the year is three hundred nine (309).
Police Department Report:
Report for the month of November was given by Chief Whaley. There were four (4) wrecks, one (1) bench warrant arrest, five (5) damage to property, three (3) thefts, two (2) burglaries, two (2) alarms, three (3) assists to other agencies, one (1) juvenile matter, three (3) traffic arrests and four (4) miscellaneous calls. For the month’s total, there were 28 calls, 129 citations and 161 violations.
Correspondence:
Mayor Normand received a certificate for completing training with the Department of Children & Family Services.
Mayor’s Report:
Mayor Normand gave an update on sewer aerator problems. The Mayor recognized Council Member Bourgeois for planning a successful Veteran’s Day Ceremony. Mayor Normand taught 4 Civics class at Brusly High, attended a ribbon cutting at Lake After Hours and participated in judging theWBR Student of the Year. The Mayor spoke about the new sidewalks on the corner of E. Main and River Rd. Mayor Normand announced the completion of the Culvert Program. Mayor Normand spoke about the proposed Traditional Neighborhood Development.
Remarks of Personal Privilege:
Council Member Bourgeois thanked the Office Staff for their work on the Veteran’s Day Ceremony.

A motion was made by Council Member André to adjourn; seconded by Council Member Olinde. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:47 PM.
