Planning & Zoning Minutes – March 2022

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
March 23, 2022

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, March 23, 2022, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  Commissioner Soniat led the Pledge of Allegiance.  A roll call determined the following officials present:

Commissioners:         Steve Guidry, Kim LeMoine, Steve Perkins, Ronda Perrault, Claudette Purnell,
Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                       None
Others Present:           Joanne Bourgeois, Laura Behrnes

A motion to approve the minutes of the February 23, 2022, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Perrault and seconded by Commissioner Travasos. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the variance request of Laura Behrnes, 3080 Live Oak Dr., for Non-Compliance Sec. 120-145(3) R-1 Single Family Residential, Side Depth, to reduce the side setback from 10’ to 8’6” to build a shop. Ms. Behrnes explained her request and presented a letter of no objection from her adjourning neighbor.  Following a brief discussion, a motion to recommend the variance to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Guidry; seconded by Commissioner Purnell. The motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Soniat made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 PM.
