Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, October 24, 2007

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
OCTOBER 24, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois,
Chris Kershaw, Marc Barker, Anthony Daquano.

Upon motion of Mrs. Rosa Stelly, seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot, the Minutes of the September 26, 2007 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

The Minutes of the Special Meeting held on September 26, 2007 were unanimously approved upon motion of Mrs. Stelly and seconded by Mr. Fontenot.

Old Business:

1. The variance request submitted by Mr. Ronnie Ocmand at the September 26, 2007 meeting and tabled for further review was discussed. It was determined that this matter should never have been submitted to the Zoning Commission and instead was rightly handled by the Board of Adjustment.

Mr. Shane Sarradet made a motion to deny recommendation of the variance and defer to the decision of the Board of Adjustment. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6:35 PM.

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION
October 24, 2007

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, and Brusly, Louisiana. Mrs. Debbie Thompson, Chairperson called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois,
Chris Kershaw, Marc Barker, Anthony Daquano.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mr. Shane Sarradet, the Minutes of the September 26, 2007 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Public Hearing:

1. Final Plat Showing the Subdivision of Lot X-1-B-3 of Portion of Additions to Cinclare Plantation into Lots X-1-B-3-A and X-1-B-3-B located in Sec. 16, T8S, R12E Town of Brusly for The Oaks S.C. LLC.

Mr. Marc Barker with Latter & Blum Realty was recognized. He advised that Lot X-1-B-3 containing 2 ½ acres is being resubdivided to remove a lot measuring 100’ x 252.91’ feet for sale to Mr. Anthony Daquano. Mr. Daquano was recognized and he explained that upon purchase of Lot X-1-B-3-A, he plans to erect an automated car wash on the property. There was no opposition to this request for resubdivision.

The chairperson closed the public hearing at 6:45 PM.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the subdivision of Lot X-1-B-3, into Lotx X-1-B-3-A and X-1-B-3-B for The Oaks S.C. LLC. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The upcoming workshop sponsored by CRPC was discussed.

Mrs. Debbie Thompson asked to be placed on the next month’s agenda for the purpose of discussing the subdivision of her property on Allene Street.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. .

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:55 PM.
