BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
November 19, 2003

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:30 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Claudette Purnell, Shane Sarradet

Members absent: Leslie Crockett.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler, Chris Kershaw.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the minutes of the October 22, 2003 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

The Chairperson welcomed Mr. Shane Sarradet, newly appointed member of the Planning & Zoning Commission. Mr. Sarradet is appointed for three years to fulfill the remainder of Mr. Henry Couvillon’s five year term.

Copies of a revised draft of the proposed “Ordinance to amend and re-enact Chapter 19 Subdivisions* Article I. General. of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Brusly, Louisiana” was provided to the members for review. Mayor Joey Normand was recognized and he brought the commission members up to date on changes to the first draft reviewed at the last meeting. He advised that recommendations received and taken into consideration during the public hearing last month along with housekeeping changes and a definition for gated communities were added.

There was no opposition to the proposed ordinance. Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval to the Town Council. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot inquired if Mr. Skipper Grady’s comment made at the last meeting wherein he stated that the Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Planning Commission held on March 12, 2003 were not approved has been affirmed. The Secretary advised that the Minutes of the March 26, 2003 meeting were reviewed and they clearly state that the March 12th minutes were approved as written.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Claudette Purnell seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:38 P.M.

MINUTES OF BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
November 19, 2003

A regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:38 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson, Rosa Stelly, Claudette Purnell, Shane Sarradet.

Members absent: Leslie Crockett.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler, Chris Kershaw.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the minutes of the October 22, 2003 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

The agenda item to consider changing the side setback requirements in the Zoning Ordinance from eight (8) feet to ten (10) feet was deferred until next meeting to allow more time for review.

Mrs. Claudette Purnell made a motion to set a Public Hearing for next month’s meeting to receive comments from the public on this matter. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 6: 45 P.M.
