MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
March 26, 2014

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, March 26, 2014 at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Commissioner Perkins led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Chairman: Kim LeMoine
Commissioners: Wayne Broussard, Jeff Travasos, Steve Perkins
Absent: Ronda Perrault, Gary Soniat, Claudette Purnell
Others present included Joanne Bourgeois, Don Neisler, and Marty Fitzgerald.

A motion to approve the minutes of February 26, 2014 regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning, as written, was made by Commissioner Travasos and seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Commissioner Perrault arrived at 6:32 PM.

Zoning: None

Planning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud a variance request for Non-Compliance, Sec. 19.6 Servitude Encroachment for the Brusly Oaks Homeowners Assoc. for Lot 3 (631 Cypress Point Dr.), to encroach upon the drainage servitude to build a fence. Mr. Marty Fitzgerald, who spoke on behalf of the Brusly Oaks Homeowners Association, explained that safety concerns prompted the request. After a brief discussion, a motion to recommend the variance to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Travasos; seconded by Commissioner Perrault. A roll call vote was had with the following results:
Yeas: Broussard, Perrault, LeMoine, Travasos, Perkins
Nays: None
Absent: Soniat, Purnell

Other Business: None

Remarks of Personal Privilege:
Mr. Don Neisler expressed concerns about granting variances to build carports with a zero setback from the property line.

Announcements: None

A motion was made by Commissioner Perrault to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Travasos. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
