Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mr. Shane Sarradet, the Minutes of the May 31, 2006 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Charles M. Burks, Sr. was recognized. He advised that he would like to locate a 1999 model mobile home on property he owns across from his residence on Anita Street for his daughter. Said property being described as Tract E-2, Archie LeJeune property . Since the mobile home is over five years old he is requesting a variance on the requirements that a mobile home must be five years old or less at time of installation. (Section 19-33 #5)

Mr. Burks submitted a copy of the petition of no objection signed by the owners of adjacent and contiguous properties. Members reviewed his request and viewed pictures showing the condition of the mobile home and the abundance of repairs needed to make it habitable due to damage done to it from a fallen tree. Discussion followed on his plans for repairing the damage and the timetable for making the repairs. Upon conclusion of the discussion, Mr. Burks was advised that it is the opinion of the commission that the repairs be made prior to moving the mobile home onto the lot and when the repairs are completed he can re-apply for a variance.
