Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, July 25, 2012

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
July 25, 2012

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, July 25, 2012 at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairperson Rosa Stelly called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.

Commissioner Purnell led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:

Chairperson: Rosa Stelly
Commissioners: Kim LeMoine, Ronda Perrault, Gary Soniat, Claudette Purnell
Absent: Jeff Travasos, Steve Perkins,
Others present: Mayor Joey Normand, Joanne Bourgeois, Don Neisler,
Clayton Hebert

A motion to approve the minutes of June 27, 2012 with the spelling of “Pizzolato” corrected was made by Commissioner Perrault and seconded by Commissioner LeMoine. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning: None

Planning:
Chairperson Stelly read aloud a Variance Request to encroachment on Drainage Servitude of 5 Feet – Mark Berger – 521 Gleason Street.
Chairperson Stelly recognized Mayor Normand. Mayor Normand, speaking for Mark Berger, recommended the variance, also requesting that a fence variance be added to the variance request.
After a brief discussion, a motion to recommend the variance to the Town Council with the addition of the fence variance was made by Commissioner LeMoine; seconded by Commissioner Purnell. A roll call vote was had with the following results:
Yeas: Perrault, Purnell, Soniat, Stelly, LeMoine
Nays: None
Absent: Travasos, Perkins

Other Business:
Mayor Normand announced that a new Preliminary Plat for Orleans West Subdivision that would be presented to the Commission at the August meeting. There was a discussion about changes being made to the previous Preliminary Plat. Also, there were concerns expressed about the turnaround not being sufficient for school buses.

A motion was made by Commissioner Soniat to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Perrault. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:54 PM.
