MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
January 26, 2011

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday January 26, 2011 in the Council Chambers, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. Vice Chairman Carroll Fontenot called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Rosa Stelly,
Steve Perkins, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: Shane Sarradet, Gary Soniat.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Chris Kershaw,
Woody Triche, Jim Tatum, Donnie Jarreau, Eric Mueller,
Martha LeBlanc.

Upon motion by Mr. Thibodaux seconded by Mrs. Purnell, the Minutes of the December 15, 2010 meeting were approved as written.

PLANNING

Request for plat approval:

1) Mr. Fontenot announced that the request for preliminary plat approval of “River Mill Reserve, A residential Town Home Development “ submitted at the December 15, 2010 Meeting was withdrawn and there would be no Public Hearing.
2) A request to subdivide two existing parcels of property belonging to Joel P. Tingle being a 103.5’ x 192’ portion of Parcel 1 of the Original W. C. Currie, Jr. Property and an 80.5’ x 192’ lot being existing Parcel 2 of the original J. Valery Leray Lot into Lots T-1 and T-2. Submitted by Woody Triche, Surveyor. Property address: 1651 Allene Street.
Mrs. Stelly made a motion to set a public hearing on this request. Mr. Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Public Hearing date: February 23, 2011.

ZONING

Request for rezoning of property:
1) A request to rezone and subdivide Tract X-4-A-1-A & Tract X-4-A-2, Portion of Additions to Cinclare Plantation. Presently zoned R-6 (Town Home Residential), requesting R-5 (Zero Lot Line Residential). Rezoning application and preliminary plat submitted by Tatum Engineering for River Mill Reserve LLC and Ace Holdings LLC. Property Address: West St. Francis Street.

Mr. Fontenot announced that rezoning requests are required to be introduced as an ordinance and the commission could take no action at this time. He recognized Mr. Tatum and Mr. Jarreau who were present to explain the reason for their request change from town homes to zero lot line residential and answer any questions. A copy of the preliminary plat was displayed and a question and answer session followed.

The Mayor was recognized. He announced that the rezoning request will be taken up at the February meeting of the Town Council and will be discussed at the committee meeting on the first Monday which is February 7, 2011.

There was no other business to come before the Planning & Zoning Commission.

Mr. Fontenot announced that election of officers will be held at the next meeting since all members were not present tonight.

Mr. Thibodaux made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission adjourned at 7:00 PM.
