Chairman Sarradet opened the public hearing on the “Preliminary Plat of Subdivision of the rear portion of Lots 1 & 2, Adonis Thibodeaux Heirs Property, Sec. 56, T7S, R12E, SE Land District, West Baton Rouge Parish, into Lots BD-1 and BD-2 for Oscar & Mary Denham, 153 N. LaBauve, Brusly, LA”. Two residents from Live Oak Drive were present and asked to speak. Mr. Donald Delatin was recognized. His concerns were: garbage pick-up and drainage. Mr. Gene Rill’s concerns were maintenance of right-of way and mobile homes. Mr. Cletus Langlois of Patin Engineers representative of Denhams addressed these concerns. Mr. Denham agreed that although he already stated that mobile homes would not be allowed, Mr. Langlois would put a statement on the plat as to that effect. Mr. Langlois advised that the right-of-way/street belongs to the town and drainage is addressed in the construction drawings. It was noted that a turn-around was not shown on the plat. Mr. Langlois answered that the type of turn-around would be up to the town and would also be addressed in the construction drawings.
Mayor Joey Normand enumerated the procedure for subdivisions as required by the town ordinance: Approval of Preliminary Plat; Approval of construction drawings; Construction begins; Approval of final plat.
Mrs. Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the “Preliminary Plat of the Subdivision of the rear portion of Lots 1 & 2, Adonis Thibodeaux Heirs Property, Sec. 56, T7S, R12E, SE Land District, West Baton Rouge Parish, into Lots BD-1 and BD-2 for Oscar & Mary Denham”, contingent upon addition of a note prohibiting mobile homes.
