Town Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – Wednesday, December 15, 2004

BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
DECEMBER 15, 2004

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:30 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Claudette Purnell, Shane Sarradet.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler,
Joanne Bourgeois, Kim Lemoine, Jason Safford, Jim Tatum,
Skipper Grady.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mr. Jules Thibodaux, the minutes of the November 17, 2004 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Plats Submitted:

• “Preliminary Plat of Oak Plaza Drive, The Oaks Shopping Center for The Oaks S.C., LLC”.

Jim Tatum with Tatum Engineers was recognized. He presented the plat and advised that the plan is consistent with previous plans. The commission reviewed the plat showing the subdivision of a lot and a proposed road that will be commercial grade and will have the sewer line extended to service the parcel. There was concern due to a ditch being relocated and discussion followed on drainage and direction of water flow. Mr. Tatum advised that the relocation made no change in water flow pattern. Mr. Carroll Fontenot had some concerns with the drainage and the impact on local subdivisions. Mayor Joey Normand asked that Mr. Tatum bring in the Drainage Impact Study that was made for the Brusly Oaks project.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to set a public hearing on this request for the January 26, 2005 meeting. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Mayor Joey Normand gave an update on the Brusly Oaks Sewer System.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 7:00 PM.

MINUTES OF BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
DECEMBER 15, 2004

 

A regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 7:00 PM.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Debbie Thompson,
Rosa Stelly, Steve Perkins.

Members absent: Shane Sarradet. Claudette Purnell.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler,
Joanne Bourgeois, Kim Lemoine, Jason Safford, Jim Tatum,
Skipper Grady.

Upon motion of Mr. Carroll Fontenot, seconded by Mr. Jules Thibodaux, the Minutes of the November 17, 2004 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Skipper Grady was recognized. He submitted a request for rezoning of property located at 138 S. Kirkland Drive from Commercial to R-4 (Multi-Family Residential) for the location of a Duplex Apartment.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to send the request to public hearing. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Public hearing to be held on January 26, 2005.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 7:10 PM.
