BRUSLY PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES
April 28, 2004

A regular meeting of the Brusly Planning Commission was held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairperson Carroll Fontenot at 6:30 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Rosa Stelly, Shane Sarradet, Claudette Purnell.

Members absent: Debbie Thompson, Leslie Crockett.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler, Joanne Bourgeois, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Dugas, Kim Lemoine, Murray McCullough, Martha LeBlanc.

Upon motion of Mrs. Claudette Purnell seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the minutes of the March 23, 2004 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Plats Submitted for approval:

1. “Preliminary Plat of Back Brusly Acres Master Plan (1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Filings)” submitted by Benchmark Group, LLC for Walter J. Dugas.

Mr. Murray McCullough with the Benchmark Group, LLC presented the plat to the commission. He stated that Mr. Dugas wishes to divide his property into eight lots and proposes use the four existing rights-of-way from Live Oak Drive for access to said lots. Upon review of the plat the commission members questioned the statement (#10 General Notes) that the Town of Brusly shall be responsible for the cost of constructing the roadway, drainage and sewer improvements within each of the four existing rights-of-way to the southerly line of the Dugas Property. Discussion followed on the responsibility for development of the rights-of-way. Mr. Fontenot advised Mr. Dugas and his engineer that although it is not the responsibility of the Planning Commission to determine the liability for developing the rights-of way, it is a concern. He advised that this matter would be researched before the next meeting.

A motion was called for. Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to send the request for approval of the “Preliminary Plat of Back Brusly Acres Master Plan (1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Filings)” to Public Hearing. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously. Public Hearing to be held at the next meeting of the Planning Commission – May 26, 2004.

There was no other business to come before the Planning Commission.

Mr. Jules Thibodaux made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

Meeting of the Planning Commission adjourned at 6:55 P.M.

MINUTES OF BRUSLY ZONING COMMISSION
April 28, 2004

A regular monthly meeting of the Brusly Zoning Commission was held on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Debbie Thompson at 6:55 P.M.

Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Rosa Stelly, Claudette Purnell, Shane Sarradet.

Members absent: Debbie Thompson, Leslie Crockett.

Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand, Don Neisler, Joanne Bourgeois, Mr. & Mrs. Walter Dugas, Kim Lemoine, Murray McCullough, Martha LeBlanc.

Upon motion of Mr. Jules Thibodaux, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the Minutes of the March 23, 2004 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.

Mr. Don Neisler advised that the new zoning maps were completed and a copy has been provided to each of the members.

There was no other business to come before the Zoning Commission.

Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Shane Sarradet seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.

The meeting of the Zoning Commission adjourned at 7:00 P.M.
