MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION
December 10, 2007
Due to the Holidays, the regular December meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on Monday December 10, 2007 in the Council Meeting Room, Brusly Town Hall, Brusly, Louisiana. The Chairman, Mr. Shane Sarradet, called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
Members present: Jules Thibodaux, Carroll Fontenot, Shane Sarradet,
Rosa Stelly, Claudette Purnell.
Members absent: Steve Perkins.
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Mayor Joey Normand,
Joanne Bourgeois, Ronda Perrault, Chris Kershaw,
Don Neisler, Todd Leray, Ron Perrault, Kevin Richard, and
several town citizens.
Upon motion of Mrs. Claudette Purnell, seconded by Mrs. Rosa Stelly, the minutes of the November 28, 2007 meeting were approved as written. Motion carried unanimously.
• Resubdivision of Lot B, Section 13 & 14, T9S, R12E into Lots B-1 & B-2 for Todd LeRay.
The plat was reviewed and there was no objection to the resubdivision of said lot. Mr. Don Neisler was recognized. He suggested that Mr. LeRay increase the width of the right-of-way from 15’ to 20’ in order to allow a greater turning radius. Mr. LeRay agreed. There was no further discussion. The public hearing was closed.
Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to recommend approval of the “Resubdivision of Lot B, Section 13 & 14, T9S, R12E into Lots B-1 & B-2 for Todd LeRay” with the change to the width of the right-of-way. Mr. Carroll Fontenot seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
• Request for a 10’ Front Setback Variance for new home to be located at 149 Richard Street, submitted by Ron Perrault.
Mr. Perrault was recognized. Referring to the plot plan he provided, he explained that a 10’ variance would allow him to place the home in line with the house on the south side of his property and only the front porch of the home would be within the required 30’ setback. There was no opposition to this request.
Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to recommend the variance. Mr. Jules Thibodaux seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
Under other business, Mr. Kevin Richard requested to be placed on the January meeting agenda for resubdivision of his property at 1151 West Main Street.
Mrs. Rosa Stelly made a motion to place Mr. Richard’s request on the January Agenda and advertise for a Public Hearing. Motion was seconded by Mr. Carroll Fontenot and carried unanimously.
There was no other business to come before the Planning & Zoning Commission.
Mr. Carroll Fontenot made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Rosa Stelly seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
