Town Meeting Minutes – Monday, October 21, 2002

The special meeting of the Town of Brusly was held this date, October 21, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at the Brusly Town Hall. A roll call by Town Clerk Jules Lefeaux determined the following present:

Mayor:
Joey Normand

Council Members:
Daryl Babin
Ronda Perrault
Joanne Bourgeois
Shane Andre’
Chris Kershaw

Council Member Perrault led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Mayor Normand requested to deviate from the agenda to Item 5, “Any other business properly presented”, for the purpose of Council Member Perrault making a statement. A motion was made by Council Member Bourgeois to move to Item 5 of the agenda, seconded by Council Member Andre’. The motion carried unanimously.

Council Member Perrault stated that she would abstain from discussing or voting on items involving local developments until further notice.

Mayor Normand returned to the agenda. He led the discussion on the consideration of construction plans for Orleans Quarters Subdivision. A motion was made by Council Member Kershaw to accept the construction plan as is, seconded by Council Member Andre’. A roll call vote by Town Clerk Lefeaux was taken with 4 yeas and 1 abstained by Council Member Perrault. The motion passed.

Mayor Normand led the discussion on Brusly Oaks Subdivision. After some discussion, a motion was made by Council Member Babin to accept the construction plans for Brusly Oaks Subdivision as is, seconded by Council Member Bourgeois. A roll call vote was taken by Town Clerk Lefeaux with 4 yeas and 1 abstained by Council Member Perrault. The motion passed.

Council Member Kershaw led the discussion on updating the Subdivision Regulations Book. Council Member Kershaw made a suggestion that he, Mayor Normand and Don Neisler provide the Planning and Zoning with a suggested update to the Subdivision Regulations Book.

Mayor Normand gave an update on a recent meeting with Police Chief Worley.

A motion was made by Council Member Bourgeois to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Babin. The motion carried unanimously.

The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
