Town Meeting Minutes – Monday, June 6, 2005

A special meeting of the Town of Brusly was called to order by Mayor Joey Normand this date, June 6, 2005 at 6:15 p.m. at the Brusly Town Hall. The Mayor announced that all cell phones are to be turned off or silenced.

The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Council Member Rodrigue.

A roll call by Town Clerk Jules Lefeaux determined the following officials present:

Mayor: Joey Normand
Council Members: David Rodrigue, Ronda Perrault,
Joanne Bourgeois, Chris Kershaw,
Shane Andre’
Attorney: Jamie Fontenot

Mayor Normand recommended hiring Mr. Eric Karl Kulcke as the top candidate of five who were interviewed for the labor crew leader position. Council Member Perrault moved to hire Mr. Kulcke at a pay rate of $13.24 per hour. Council Member Bourgeois seconded the motion. Council Member Kershaw asked the Council Members who participated in the interviews if they had the same recommendation; Council Member Bourgeois said he was selected in part because he had the most supervisory experience. Council Member Perrault was impressed with the amount of continuing education Mr. Kulcke participated in. Both agreed that he was the recommended candidate. The second highest scoring candidate had good experience, but had no supervisory experience. Mayor Normand called for the vote and the motion was approved unanimously.

A motion was made by Council Member Andre’ to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Kershaw. The motion was unopposed. The meeting adjourned at 6:19 p.m.
