Planning & Zoning Minutes – July 2020

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
July 22, 2020

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, July 22, 2020, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  Commissioner Perrault led the Pledge of Allegiance.  A roll call determined the following officials present:

Commissioners:            Kim LeMoine, Ronda Perrault, Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                         Steve Guidry, Steve Perkins, Claudette Purnell
Others Present:             Leslie Duggan, Court Bradford

A motion to approve the minutes of the June 24, 2020, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Soniat and seconded by Commissioner Travasos.  The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:

Chairman LeMoine read aloud the variance request of Herbert Duggan at 341 Willow Oak Dr. for non-compliance of Sec. 19.31.1 Zoning District R-1 Side Setback, to reduce the side setback from 10’ to 2’ to build an accessory structure. Leslie Duggan explained the request to the Commissioners and also referred to a letter from the adjoining neighbor, Vickie Rich, stating that she had no objections to the variance request.  A motion to recommend the variance request to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Soniat.  The motion passed unanimously.

Planning:
Public Hearing – Final Plat
Chairman LeMoine opened the Public Hearing for the Final Plat of Map Showing Survey & Three Minor Subdivisions of OD-2 of the Partition of the Adonis Thibodeaux Heirs Property, Lot 23-A-1-A, Lot 46 and Lot 52 into Lots 23-A-1-A-1, Lot 14-A, & 20-A located in Sec. 56, T-7-S, R-12-E, Southeast Land District, West of the Mississippi River, Town of Brusly, Parish of West Baton Rouge, State of Louisiana for Oscar Denham.

Mr. Court Bradford, representing Mr. Oscar Denham, presented and explained the Final Plat. Following discussion, Chairman LeMoine closed the Public Hearing and referred the matter to the Commissioners.   A motion to recommend the plat to the Town Council, with Lot numbers changed as discussed, was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Soniat.  The motion was approved unanimously.

A motion was made by Commissioner Travasos to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Soniat to adjourn.  The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:41 PM.
