Planning & Zoning Minutes – January 2026

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
January 28, 2026

The meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on this date, January 28, 2026, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  Commissioner Popleon led the Pledge of Allegiance.  A roll call determined the following officials present:

Commissioners:    Steve Guidry, Kim LaMoine, Ronda Perrault, Cindy Popleon,
Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                 Steve Perkins

A motion to approve the minutes of December 17, 2025, meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Travasos and seconded by Commissioner Guidry. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Chairman LaMoine read aloud the variance request of Laken Bourgoyne, 1505 Live Oak Dr., Non-Compliance Sec. 120-145 R-1 Single Family Residential, to reduce the front setback from 30 feet to 20 feet and to reduce the side setback from 10 feet to 5 feet. After a brief discussion a motion to recommend the variance, contingent upon obtaining a letter of no objection from Ms. McCurley, the adjourning neighbor and putting a gutter on the structure, to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Guidry; seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Travasos made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Popleon. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:40 PM.
