Planning & Zoning Minutes – December 2025

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
December 17, 2025

The meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on this date, December 17, 2025, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM. Commissioner Soniat led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:
Commissioners:    Steve Guidry, Kim LeMoine, Steve Perkins, Ronda Perrault,
Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                 Cindy Popleon

A motion to approve the minutes of November 19, 2025, meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Travasos and seconded by Commissioner Guidry. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the variance request of Cody Acosta, 253 W. Main Street, Non-Compliance Sec. 120-147(c)(3) R-3 Single Family Residential, to reduce the side setback from 10 feet to 8 feet. After discussion a motion to recommend approval contingent upon a letter of no objection from the neighbor on the east side of the property and a fire wall on the east wall of the structure, was made by Commissioner Travasos; seconded by Commissioner Guidry. The motion passed unanimously.

Planning: None

Other Business:
Chairman LeMoine called for nominations of Officers to Planning & Zoning Commission.
Commissioner Guidry nominated Commissioner Soniat as Secretary; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Soniat nominated Commissioner Perrault as Vice-Chair; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed unanimously.
Commissioner Perrault nominated Commissioner LeMoine as Chair; seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The motion passed unanimously.

After consulting the proposed calendar, members decided to schedule the 2026 meeting dates on the 4th Wednesday of each month for the months of January through October. Due to the holidays in the months of November and December the meetings will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Commissioner Guidry made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Perkins. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:45PM.
