Planning & Zoning Minutes – August 2017

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
August 23, 2017

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, August 23, 2017, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chair Person Perrault called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Commissioner Soniat led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:

Chair Person:            Ronda Perrault
Commissioners:        Steve Guidry, Claudette Purnell, Gary Soniat
Absent:                      Kim LeMoine, Steve Perkins, Jeff Travasos
Others Present:        Don Neisler, Shane Sarradet, Lamar Thomas

A motion to approve the minutes of the July 26, 2017, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Guidry and seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The minutes were approved unanimously.

Public Hearing – Rezoning Request:
Chair Person Perrault read aloud and opened the public hearing for the Rezoning Request for 438 East Main Street, (LOTS 1 &2 SQ 15 BRUSLY SUBD BR-7-103 CB314 E39) from B-1 (Transition) to R-3 (Single Family Residential). Mr. Lamar Thomas introduced himself and explained that he would like to remodel the existing house located on the property for residential use. Hearing no further comments, Chair Person Perrault closed the Public Hearing and directed the matter to the Commission for consideration. A motion to favorably recommend the re-zoning request to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Soniat; seconded by Commissioner Purnell. The motion passed with a unanimous vote.

A motion was made by Commissioner Purnell to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Guidry. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:34 PM.
