Planning & Zoning Meeting Minutes – August 2025

MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING
August 27, 2025

The meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held on this date, August 27, 2025, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.  Commissioner Perrault led the Pledge of Allegiance.  A roll call determined the following officials present:

Commissioners:          Kim LeMoine, Ronda Perrault, Cindy Popleon,
Gary Soniat, Jeff Travasos
Absent:                        Steve Guidry, Steve Perkins
Others Present:            Shane Sarradet, Mr. & Mrs. Nick Seneca

A motion to approve the minutes of June 25, 2025, meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission, as written, was made by Commissioner Travasos and seconded by Commissioner Popleon. The minutes were approved unanimously. The July meeting was cancelled.

Zoning:
Chairman LeMoine read aloud the variance request of Nick Seneca, 549 Courtney St., Non-Compliance Sec. 120-147(c)(3) R-3 Single Family Residential, to reduce the side setback from 10 feet to 8.4 feet and to reduce the rear setback from 10 feet to 7 feet. Mr. Nick Seneca explained his request to the Commission. After a brief discussion a motion to recommend the variance of a side setback to 8.4 feet and the rear setback to 4.6 feet, to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Soniat. The motion passed unanimously.

Commissioner Travasos made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Popleon. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:38 PM.
