A meeting of the Brusly Landmark and Heritage Commission was held on Monday April 18, 2011, Brusly Town Hall, and Brusly, Louisiana.
Chairman Rills called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Voting members present: Billy Bourgeois, Sara Grady, Shirley Jordan, Jim Rills
Voting members absent: Margaret Canella. Rose Jackson, Shane Sarradet
Non-voting members absent: Kevin Durbin
Others present: Marianne Berthelot, Joanne Bourgeois, Edith Owens.
Upon motion of Mrs. Grady seconded by Mr. Bourgeois the minutes of the April 18, 2011 meeting were approved as written.
Landmark Plaque Applications – No applications were received.
Abandoned Landmark Properties
Mrs. Bourgeois advised members that the plaque awarded to the owners of the day care center on East Main Street was returned to the Town due to the closing of the facility.
Brusly High school 100th Anniversary
Since this is not a Landmark & Heritage Commission Project, there was no discussion on this matter. Members were told that if they wished to participate in any planning for this celebration, they could remain after the meeting and discuss it with Mr. Rills & Mrs. Bourgeois.
There was no other business to come before the commission. Mrs. Jordan made a motion to adjourn. Mrs. Grady seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
The meeting of the Brusly Landmark & Heritage Commission adjourned at 7:00 PM.
