MINUTES OF THE BRUSLY PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING

NOVEMBER 22, 2017

The regular meeting of the Brusly Planning & Zoning Commission was held this date, November 22, 2017, at the Brusly Town Hall. Chairman LeMoine called the meeting to order at 6:30 PM.
Commissioner Purnell led the Pledge of Allegiance. A roll call determined the following officials present:

Chairman:                                 Kim LeMoine
Commissioners:                       Ronda Perrault, Claudette Purnell, Gary Soniat,  Jeff Travasos
Absent:                                      Steve Guidry,  Steve Perkins

A motion to approve the minutes of October 25, 2017, regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning, as written, was made by Commissioner Perrault and seconded by Commissioner Purnell.  The minutes were approved unanimously.

Public Hearing – Rezoning & Subdivision Request:

Chairman LeMoine read aloud and opened the public hearing for the re-zoning of Lot 9, Rita Babin Tract From R-2 (Single Family Residential) to C-1 (Light Commercial) & subdivision of the 3.929 acre Tract of land, being the Rita Babin Tract into Lot 8 (3.038 acres) and Lot 9 (0.891 acres) located in section 16, T-3-S, R-12-E, Southeast Land District, west of the Mississippi River, West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana.

Mr. Francois Boulanger of Bultra Properties, LLC, introduced himself and explained that the request to rezone was being made to expand existing commercial property by adding another building to the shopping area. In response to questions from Commission Members, Mr. Boulanger clarified that the proposed rezoned and subdivided property would be used for parking.

Hearing no further comments, Chairman LeMoine closed the Public Hearing and directed the matter to the Commission for consideration. A motion to favorably recommend the re-zoning and subdivision to the Town Council was made by Commissioner Perrault; seconded by Commissioner Travasos.  A roll call vote resulted in following:

Nays:                       None
Absent:                   Perkins, Guidry

A motion was made by Commissioner Purnell to adjourn; seconded by Commissioner Travasos. The motion passed with a unanimous vote. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 PM.
