A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE IN BRUSLY AND PORT ALLEN
NOVEMBER 11, 2002

November 11, 2002 marked "A Day of Remembrance" for the Town of Brusly. Highlights of the day included dedication of markers recognizing Charles P. Adams, Brusly native and founder of Grambling State University, and the site of the Original Brusly High School, as well as ceremonies honoring veterans of military service and recognition of participants in the "Flags for Brusly" program. Events began at 9:30 a.m. on the grounds of the Brusly Town Hall, moved to the Brusly Middle School campus on the River Road (Original Brusly High School), traveled to Port Allen for a ceremony at the Veterans' Memorial on the grounds of the WBR Parish Courthouse, then returned to the Brusly Town Hall for closing ceremonies and a public reception.
