COUNCIL MEMBERS

Shane Andre' David Shane Andre'
Shane is a native of Brusly, married to the former Liz Blanchard of Plaquemine. They have two sons, Dylan and Landon, and reside on Gleason Street. Shane is a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and a minor in English. He currently works for The Dow Chemical as an operations specialist. Previously, he taught school and coached for ten years, with the last six years being at Brusly High School. His hobbies include golf, fishing, and hunting. Shane is currently serving in his second term on the Town Council and can truly say it has been very rewarding and enjoyable.

Joanne Bourgeois Joanne Bourgeois
Joanne lives on Gleason Street. She is the mother of Andy, Tony, Russ and Alec and the grandmother of Bryon, Alex and Josie.

She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy in Baton Rouge then attended LSU, graduating in 1963 with a degree in elementary education and obtained a master's degree in 1973. She began teaching in Brusly in 1963 and remained in the public school system as an educator until retiring in February, 2000. Prior to being elected to the Brusly Town Council, her public service included a position on the West Baton Rouge Library Board beginning in 1976. She currently serves on that board and on the Board of Directors of the West Baton Rouge Museum.

Landess Hebert Landess Hebert
Landess is a native of Brusly, graduating from Brusly High. He attended LSU and USL after serving in the Army. Landess Lives in the house he was born in on N. LaBauve St. in "Back Brusly". He is Married to Dena Delafield of Baton Rouge. He is Retired and his hobbies are golf, RVing, and sailing.


Chris Kershaw Chris "Fish" Kershaw
Fish lives on Venzule Street in "Back Brusly." Fish was elected to the council in October 2000. He is comptroller of P&O Ports. Fish is an avid golfer and loves sports and children. He is a CPA and received his accounting degree in 1977 from LSU.


Thomas Olinde Thomas Olinde
Thomas Olinde, a native of Port Allen, resides on Oakbend Drive with his wife, former Nichole Dugas, a Brusly native, and their children, Jordan and Grant. Following graduation from Port Allen High School, Thomas joined the United States Navy, serving for seven years to protect the country he loves. A former Plumbing Inspector for the City of Port Allen, Thomas currently owns/operates a plumbing company. He also owns/operates rental units in Baton Rouge. His hobbies include fishing, landscaping, woodworking and assisting the elderly with miscellaneous, small projects. Now serving his first term on the Brusly Council, Thomas is no stranger to Town Hall as he has attended many meetings in the past and has been active in the community.


ADMINISTRATION
Debbie Berthelot Debbie Berthelot - Town Clerk
Debbie has been an employee of the Town of Brusly since April 1999.She is a member of the Louisiana Municipal Clerks Association. Her previous experience has been with Iberville Trust and Savings Bank as assistant head teller and collection department, and Sears Warehouse as a dispatcher.

She and her husband Mike have been married for 28 years and built their home on Riverside 14 years ago. They are the parents of Kevin, who works as an electrician for Sun Electric, and Tammy who attends Southeastern.


Patricia Lucas Patricia Gaudet - Accounting Clerk
Patricia was hired as the Traffic Clerk for the Town of Brusly in November 2002 and was promoted to Accounting Clerk in January 2008. Her work at the Town Hall includes accounts payable and receivable, licenses and permits, preparing agendas and packets for town meetings, writing minutes and other responsibilities, as needed. Having attended training seminars, she is a member of the Louisiana Association of Municipal Secretaries and Assistants. Patricia received the CMA (Certified Municipal Assistant) certificate in September of 2009.

A native of Addis and a graduate of Brusly High School, Patricia has lived on Live Oak Drive in Brusly since 1990. She is the mother of two sons, Todd who attends BRCC and Blake, a student at Brusly High School.


Ledidra Carter-Bell Ledidra Carter-Bell - Traffic Clerk
I started employment with the Town of Brusly in January 2008. my current position as Traffic Clerk entitles collecting traffic fines and preparing for Mayor’s Court each month. It also entitles helping citizens with Occupancy permits and answering numerous phone calls from the public. I am a member of the Louisiana Association of Municipal Secretaries and Assistants a/k/a LAMSA.

I am a native of Baton Rouge, I graduated from Glen Oaks High School and Delta College of Practical Nursing, and I currently attend Southern University part-time. My Husband Herbert Bell Sr. and I are new residents of Brusly. I have Two Beautiful Children, 9 years old Twins Jason and Jay’la Holliday; as well as three wonderful step-children, Asha, Herbert Jr. and Zavian Bell.

I am very happy to be a part of a wonderful community and a great place of employment.


TOWN ATTORNEY
Debbie Berthelot Thomas Acosta Jr. - Town Attorney
Tom is a native of West Baton Rouge Parish, and resides on the South River Road in Addis. He is married to the former Mary Broussard of Baton Rouge, and they have a son, William, age 12.

Tom has been in private legal practice in Port Allen since 1986. He graduated from Rice University, and from the L.S.U. Paul M. Hebert Law Center. He has served in the United States Army for over 28 years - on active duty in Germany and in the Louisiana Army National Guard, and is currently serving in the United States Army Reserve. He served from 2001-2003 on active duty in the Middle East for Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
